|
Description:
The tool which lets you screen your mail before it gets in to your PC !
Fight spam, scam, malware and obscenity - before it gets into your mailbox. Get in control over your mail now!
It not only lets you see your mail before you receive it, but analyzes waiting messages and rank the risk for you, in four categories:
VIRUS - active malware; viruses, worms, trojans, spyware etc.
SPAM - all kinds of unsolicited mail.
X_Rated - messages with adult only contents X and R rated.
Bad Language - messages with foul, obscene, explicit language.
Results are presented as a simple color-coded tags (Risk-Level Mapping):
3 RED - clear and present danger, contains elements classified as such.
2 ORANGE - high, contain components that are likely harmful.
1 YELLOW - medium, something looks not quite right.
0 GREEN - low, message appear to be "clean".
The major flaw and immediate cause of most virus / worm email infections is that when message is downloaded by email client - it is already TOO LATE. Malicious code executes before anything can be done to prevent it - so the harm is already done.
Mailbox Guard offers a better way. It lets the user see all incoming mail right on the server, and remove unwanted or suspicious messages right there.
Mailbox Guard makes messages selection very easy. It pre-screens mail and 'ranks' every message according to four-level risk scale, which is presented as a color tags. It can even automatically mark for deletion messages that meet predefined criteria, simplifying process even further.
The core component of MBG is a smart, parsing engine, which is trained to recognize patterns specific to messages which carries dangerous or offending contents. It uses both algorithmic and heuristic methods to determine the risk level.
Mailbox Guard can also work in the background, checking for new mail periodically. When new mail arrives - it not only notifies the user that new mail is waiting, but also provides immediate indication about risk level. The color dot on the envelope act as an instant status indicator. If it is stays gray - no new messages. If turns on color - new messages are waiting and risk is denoted by the color of the dot. If mouse is moved over the icon - it reveals quick status (last-checked time and number of messages).
New version features unlimited email account management, background mail check, notification on new mail, user-definable lists, plain-text preview, html-tag filter, remote preview and delete of all emails from multiple accounts (without downloading to PC). Automatic test and report of connection speed. Scan-status database for all accounts. Master view, and account status line. Easy Add / Remove mail senders to Black-list or White-list with one click. New, cool looking interface, and more.
The new interface offers lots of advanced features geared toward power-user. However, for the every day's use, Mailbox Guard can get the job done with a couple of simple mouse-clicks. It does not require user to define any rules - everything is handled automatically by the program itself. Written in C and Assembler for size and speed. Compact and powerful. User friendly interface. Run well on all Windows from 95 upward to XP.
